In response to COVID-19, the #WindowsUplift Project was created by the Greenmount West Community Center as a way for community members to positively engage with one another while practicing safe physical distancing. Two original, first-edition coloring pages were created for participants of all ages to color and place in their windows for the world to see. We know the calming effect that coloring has on our youth - we see it during our daily youth programming. The purpose of the coloring sheets is two-fold. We wanted to find a way to bring calmness and peace to you during this time, and coloring is an accessible form of art therapy. We also wanted to show gratitude and support for our essential workers who are keeping our communities going throughout this time. Our goal is that, while essential workers are going to and from work, they will see the coloring pages in your window, thanking them for their hard work and reminding them that they have support from within their communities.
