INTEGRATIVE HUMANISTIC STUDIES/STUDIO MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

Students at MICA possess academic curiosity along with their interests and practice in studio art and design. To encourage this curiosity and practice, MICA offers the Integrative Humanistic Studies undergraduate degree; in effect, students in this program get a liberal arts degree as well as a studio arts degree combined in one program of study.

In Humanistic Studies, to complete the requirements for a major, a student must complete the following coursework:

HMST 101 Frameworks
HMST 220 On Being Human
Humanistic Studies electives (five at any level)
Humanistic Studies electives (two at 300-level or above)
Academic electives (2 liberal arts electives)
Senior Thesis I
Senior Thesis II

For required Studio coursework, please refer to the academic degree plan of the individual program of study.
