Interlude Family Artist Residency

Deadline May 01, 2022

Website | Application

Established in 2019 in the Hudson Valley in Livingston, NY, Interlude Artist Residency is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting a flourishing practice for visual artists who are actively parenting.  Artists need space and time to pursue their vision. Residencies are among the greatest opportunities for rejuvenation, connection, and artistic growth. Unfortunately, this path is virtually closed to young parents since so few residencies welcome families. We created Interlude in 2019 to address this gap. We are the only residency in the northeast exclusively dedicated to supporting the concurrent needs of creative and family lives.

Interlude offers residents a studio and a living space that can accommodate families. We provide several prepared meals each week and a modest stipend that can be used for transportation, childcare, food, or materials. An on-site coordinator manages logistics so artists can focus on their work.

Interlude is set in the thriving Hudson Valley arts community and residents will have the opportunity for studio visits with notable area artists and arts professionals.
