The Artist in Residency program awards one residency per academic year for a visiting artist/designer to work at the school, developing a new work in collaboration with students and faculty. The program is part of The Furman Advantage, a program that aims to build educational value through student experience. The residency provides enrolled students at Furman University with an alternative learning opportunity to engage with practicing artists/designers. The culmination of this residency is an exhibition and presentation that summarizes the artist’s process and work accomplished.
