RFP: People & Places 2019

Deadline April 01, 2019

Website

People & Places Conference 2019 is looking for 2-3 artists to disrupt conference norms April 15-16 in Arlington, VA. We are looking for artists to use space in our exhibit area to engage attendees, each other, and the other (more traditional) exhibitors. Three of the booths will be turned over to artists for projects that are meant to engage attendees in a conversation about some piece of the intersections of art, community, place, and racial equity.

People & Places is an event bringing together nonprofit community development organizations with the mission of using place-based strategies to improve low income places and social and economic outcomes for communities of color. It brings together 18 national advocacy networks from across the United States. Part of the event's accepted challenge is to get people in these networks interacting across their traditional affiliations. In short, we are asking the DMV's creative community to use this high-traffic exhibit area to ensure these committed, intelligent, passionate, and focused practitioners are learning from, with, and among each other.
