Foundwork Artist Prize

Deadline September 30, 2019

Website | Application

Artists are invited to create a profile on Foundwork to be considered for the first annual Foundwork Artist Prize, an unrestricted $10,000 juried grant awarded in October, 2019 to an outstanding artist chosen on the platform. The winner will also receive a studio visit with each of the jurors to cultivate a dialogue around the winner’s practice.

Foundwork was inspired by Adam Yokell’s experience running Hometown, a gallery in Brooklyn where he worked primarily with emerging artists. Seeing the limitations that artists, curators, and gallerists often face trying to find and connect with one another, Adam decided to develop Foundwork as an informational resource specifically for this group. Foundwork is a focused venue where artists can introduce their work to a global art audience, and where collaborators can efficiently research and engage with a wider range of practicing artists, wherever they are based. Foundwork is a connective platform for artists and collaborators, not a marketplace, and is a tool for artists and exhibitors alike.
