The Cuttyhunk Island Residency mission is to provide artists and writers the time and setting to refocus their energy on their creative process within a supportive community environment, while enriching the cultural vitality of Cuttyhunk Island.
Cuttyhunk Island Artists’ Residency offers artists the time to focus on their work in a beautiful, remote setting far removed from the distractions of everyday life. An intimate group of twelve visual artists gather on Cuttyhunk Island for eight days to share ideas and learn from each other while working on their individual projects. We invite visiting artists each session to do slide talks and meet with each participant for informal critique sessions. The visiting artists work alongside the participants on their own projects and we all sit down to meals together.
