CFP: AHTR (Art History Teaching Resources)

Deadline May 01, 2020

Website | Application

ArtHistoryTeachingResources.org (AHTR) is currently seeking submissions to the AHTR Weekly for 2019-2020. Published each Friday throughout the academic year, the AHTR Weekly features short blog posts on a range of current topics in teaching and learning. Typically between 700-1500 words, posts should be written in an informal, yet professional, tone. While AHTR will consider all topics, we are especially interested in submissions that reflect on ways educators have adapted or experimented with content (lesson plans, teaching ideas, resources, or tools) previously published on the AHTR website.

AHTR is home to a constantly evolving and collectively authored online repository of teaching content related to the study of visual culture and arts-based learning. Through AHTR’s website and social media accounts, we support an online community of practice, promote discussion around effective and engaged practices in visual arts education, and encourage collaboration and exchange. Since its launch in 2011, AHTR has been visited over 1 million times by users in over 185 countries, and now averages more than 1,000 hits each day from a growing community of professionals in higher education, museum, and k-12 learning environments.

If you would like to propose a topic or submit a completed post for consideration, please contact the editors at the email linked above. Posts are contributed voluntarily and should not be previously published on personal websites or other platforms. We encourage contributions from authors outside of arts-based disciplines as well as those from outside higher education.
