Come to this hands-on workshop to get a more in-depth training into specific Canvas teaching tools. Training will include demonstrations and time for practice on the following topics: the pedagogy of online collaborative work (using integrated Google Apps, Discussions, ePortfolio and multimedia) as well as online assignment submissions, outcomes and rubrics. If there is time, there will be a demonstration of the use of the Gradebook and SpeedGrader, a tool used to facilitate quick and easy assessment of student work!
Successful Classroom Presentations
Are you starting out the semester with a new laptop? Do you need some tips for presenting on MICA classroom computers? This session will go over basic computer specs and set up. We will also go over the “ins” and “outs” of plugging in and giving a presentation in a MICA classroom. Other topics that will be covered are: PowerPoint presentation basics, screen mirroring, file organization and backups. Please bring your computer to this session!

There will be time for discussion and practice of active learning strategies that take place in class critiques and how they can be supported by online activities before, during and after class.
