The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.
This system was created to standardize the classification and labeling of chemicals. It is a logical and comprehensive approach to:
• Defining health, physical and environmental hazards of chemicals;
• Creating classification processes that use available data on chemicals for comparison with the defined hazard criteria; and Communicating hazard information, as well as protective measures, on labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
The above information was taken directly from the OSHA website.
Please read all SDS and GHS information before using a material. Please look at the pictograms on labels to know what PPE should be worn (gloves, respirator, etc).
This list is always growing! Click HERE to access all of the department's SDS sheets for chemicals.
Always contact a Studio Manager before you bring new chemicals and materials into the department. If you are unsure and you have any questions we are here to help!
