Making Democracy

Submit to MICA Making Democracy!

MICA invites student, staff, and faculty proposals for educational spring events surrounding themes of democratic practice, civic action, freedom of expression, immigration, equity, citizenship, information literacy, the public good, and the role of art and design in moments of change and upheaval. The resulting programming is intended to convene the College community to affirm human rights unequivocally, share particularly pertinent information, and inspire a rigorous exchange of ideas.

MICA Making Democracy advances MICA’s Core Values and is responsive to changes in the cultural and political landscape that are taking place in our nation and in the world. It is also proactive, particularly for MICA’s students as citizens of Baltimore who hold the future in their hands and strive to re-imagine the world.

Events can include existing programming that addresses the topics above, or new events and projects designed for MICA Making Democracy.

Submit any ideas for programs through this form. Email Decker Library Director Heather Slania (hslania@mica.edu) with questions.

This initiative is supported by MICA’s Offices of Academic Affairs, Graduate Studies, Student Affairs, and the Decker Library.
