ARTIST STATEMENT:

கோர்வை-Strung is a site-specific 3D drawing installation made from sewing thread. The numerous threads come together to form a sheltering canopy atop the entrance hallway to the heart of our home. The special structure of this piece represents the tight-knit bonds of family as it welcomes you into the home with an intimate warmth.

Using materials found at home I created an organic geometric installation that is also a study of light, movement, and form. The tedious making process that required patience and long hours of endurance highlights the conditions under which this piece was constructed and adds significance to the overall piece.
